If you aren't familiar with Thomas Mills' substack Politics NC, you should check it out. Today's post is a brutal take down of Mark Robinson - and he deserves every word of it!
National Voter Registration Day 9/17 - September is indeed a good time to focus on registering more voters. And I apologize for not mentioning the postcard option for registering voters with Field Team 6. The info is on my google doc. I just forgot to mention. See https://tinyurl.com/VotingRightsActions (under both Register Voters and Writing Postcards and Letters sections.
Hi Marilyn, here's another opportunity for voter engagement in NC.
I received an email from the Worker's Circle about an in-person canvass day of action with Team Unity North Carolina in Charlotte, NC on September 28th. If you're interested sign up here: https://forms.gle/R1bGxgEAv3Wh6f13A
They are also planning a a longer weekend of action Oct 26-28 for anyone who lives too far away to come to Charlotte for a day of Canvassing. The focus for both events is canvassing black voters in Charlotte. This is a key voting demographic if we are going to boost voter turnout in Mecklenburg County and flip NC blue, elect Josh Stein and kick Mark Robinson to the curb.
If you are wondering who these groups are, I have been on calls where Worker's Circle in a sponsor and I think they work pretty closely with Swing Blue Alliance which is tied into the All In for NC grassroots activity. Team Unity-NC is a voter-of-color partner of the Center for Common Ground. I write postcards with Reclaim Our Vote - a project through Center for Common Ground.
Yes, I learned about it as well. It will be added when I do this week's update of the google doc.
I know Worker's Circle well! I've volunteered with them and am in regular contact as well. I always post their work on my google doc - recently about postcard campaigns and phone banks in coordination with the CCG.
