Hey, Team NC!
Happy Wednesday! Here are a few quick things you can do to boost your political involvement:
You can canvass or phonebank for Heal Together NC’s Public School Strong initiative in Mecklenburg. Public School Strong is an effort to secure greater funding for NC public schools, increase community participation at school board meetings, and convince Mecklenburg County candidates to pledge support for these goals. In short, they’re working really hard to improve the public school system and they need volunteers!!
You can join Black Voters for Kamala Harris this Saturday, October 12, to knock doors and mobilize Black voters! They will be canvassing in New Hanover- RSVP here for more details and location specifics.
Next up, phonebank with the Carolina Federation, Down Home NC, and Siembra NC any Thursday or Sunday until Election Day for key races throughout the state. In depth training will be provided at the beginning of each phonebank. Sign up here (bonus points if you can call in Spanish)!Â
Lastly, let us not forget that Vote Forward has two active letter writing campaigns in NC: one for turning out likely Dems, and another encouraging young, underrepresented North Carolinians to vote. Send your letters by October 29. We’re in the final stretch for letter writing and postcarding before the election, so do what you can!
OK, that’s it for now. Keep doing what you’re doing! More soon.
Jess
Hello North Carolina friends! Vote Forward still has 14,000 letters that need to be sent to NC voters. Please jump in if you can. My group did over 1000 this week but our hands are sore! I know postage is expensive but even doing five would help so much. Sending love and strength to you all! https://votefwd.org/
I have 100 postcards I have put off sending due to the floods. Should I just go ahead-- anyone have insights?
