Hey, everyone!
Big doings in North Carolina, as you know. With those come lots of opportunities to have an impact. You can help protect election results from November, start reaching out to voters, make sure the Republican-led General Assembly knows that we are watching, and more!
If you read to the bottom, you'll find out about a fun event!
Protecting the 2024 election results for NC Supreme Court from being overturned
Protect Justice Allison Rigg’s 2024 win for NC Supreme Court by protecting the 65,000 votes challenged in the courts by her Republican opponent, Jefferson Griffin. The state Board of Election and one NC Court have already rejected the challenges, but the case is being appealed to higher courts that are more likely to be partisan. THIS IS A NATIONAL ISSUE! If Griffin succeeds, ALL future elections, in every state, are threatened.
How you can help:
1. Reach out to voters on Griffin’s List, to make sure they know their votes have been challenged and make sure their voices are heard.
Join the Carolina Federation and Down Home NC for phonebanks on 2/13, 2/14, 2/15, and 2/16.
Join the Durham County Dems every Tuesday and this week also on Thursday and Saturday. Click here to sign up.
If you live in the Triangle, sign up to knock doors in Fuquay-Varina (Wake County) Friday, Saturday, or Sunday with the NC Democratic Party. Sign up here.
2. Attend a RALLY this coming weekend or on Monday (2/17) to protest Jefferson Griffin’s attempt to throw out 60,000+ votes in the NC Supreme Court Justice race. Rallies are planned around NC. For locations and dates look here.
Reach out to voters
Let's start building the Democratic Party into a big tent for everyone who is upset about the wrecking balls swinging in Washington, DC. Not all NC county Democratic Parties are out there engaging with voters, but Durham's is! We’re going door to door to organize unorganized precincts and recruiting volunteers by phone. Check out opportunities on their calendar and sign up here.
Learn about a great grassroots organization as it prepares for local outreach across North Carolina. Neighbors On Call/County To County is dedicated to turning the NC General Assembly blue. This powerhouse organization has devoted volunteers who canvass, phone bank and more. Join them for their online kickoff on 2/27. Sign up here.
All in for NC, a program of Massachusetts-based Swing Blue Alliance. is holding a forum on 2/24 at 4 pm where you can meet some of the leaders of new groups in North Carolina who have the know-how and cutting edge communications tools to reach and cultivate voters. These groups are working both separately and together to amplify our movement's voices and messages in the state. Find out more. Sign up here.
And finally, there's more for folks in the Triangle area:
1. Make sure the state legislature (General Assembly) knows we're watching. Sign up to pack the NC General Assembly Gallery in Raleigh on Wed 2/19 at noon. Sign up here.
2. And for something fun, join us for the "Disenfranchised Disco" – a gathering celebrating the voices of 60,000 voters in North Carolina whose rights have been challenged. Dance, plan, rejuvenate, make friends, and make a difference, while connecting with fellow advocates, individuals and organizations, sharing stories, and empowering each other to stand for justice. Together, we will ensure that every vote counts! Sign up here.
OK, all. More soon!

I can't direct message. The Save Act. I read it and it doesn't specifically say that you have to use a passport or birth certificate. And don't most people have a social security card? That's proof of being an American citizen. I'm confused about the talk about it and I'm already upset enough and want to know if I'm losing my right to vote or my husband's last name. Because I will change it back. No man is worth my freedom
