Hey, Team North Carolina!
So much volunteering to do, so little time… As such, here’s a rapid fire round of ways to get involved:
You can phonebank every Tuesday and Thursday from 5-7pm with NC Voter Protection to recruit poll watchers and volunteers. This is a great way to help Dems up and down the ballot! You can also attend a 1.5 hour training and become a poll watcher yourself here, or volunteer to operate NC Voter Protection’s Voter Assistance Hotline here. These are both great options for protecting voter rights and combatting disenfranchisement in NC.
Next up, make calls with Swing Blue Alliance to elect Safiyah Jackson to state HD 37! This is such a crucial race, as it has the potential to reverse the Republicans’ veto-proof majority in the House. SBA has phonebanking opportunities every Wednesday from 6-8pm, with the dual goals of supporting Jackson and recruiting volunteers to increase Democratic turnout in Mecklenburg County.Â
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
More soon.
Jess
P.S. Did you know that NC voting laws have changed since the last election and you’re now required to show a photo ID at the polls? You probably did. But does everyone you know know? For an approved list of IDs to check out yourself or forward to friends/family/acquaintances, click here.
