Chop Wood, Carry NC 7/15
Hey, Team NC!
It’s a mess out there, huh? But even so WE HAVE TO WIN! We. Have. To. Win.
So let’s keep focussing on doing the work.
As such…please save the date for Tuesday, August 6, 7:30-8:30 PM ET because I’m co-hosting an NC fundraiser called 4 Million Doors.
It’s a fundraiser for these four community organizations:Â
Carolina Federation
Down Home NC
NC Asian Americans Together (NCAAT)
Siembra NC
Together, they will be spearheading a joint effort to canvass 4 million homes. They will be having conversations with people who need to be persuaded to vote Democratic. Their work – and our support of it – has been ongoing. We will hear from their executive directors as well as our special guest, Attorney General Josh Stein.Â
Listen to the case made by Charles DeLoach, a board member for the Mecklenburg County Democrats, about why you should join us for this fundraiser in support of this work:Â
North Carolina voters are a rare breed. They regularly vote for one party for the Presidency and another for Governor. They get their news from a wide variety of sources and they are increasingly skeptical of traditional media.Â
But, thankfully, there’s one source of information that NC voters continue to find reliable: their neighbors. Knocking on doors has always been the most effective tool for campaigns to persuade voters, but as our media system continues to fracture, face-to-face conversations have become [more] important than ever.Â
These groups do just that. They each have a target demographic – urban, rural, Black, Asian-American, Latine – within which they create in-person, face-to-face opportunities to make the case for Democrats. They have credibility with these communities and are uniquely qualified to reach them. And now is the time to help these four organizations make a final push before Election Day.Â
Thanks, all! More soon!
