Hey, Team NC! It’s been a minute!
I return to you with exciting news: the Democratic Party of North Carolina has a new chair, the young, extremely dynamic, and very capable Anderson Clayton. Read about her here. I am VERY excited about her and I hope you will be, too.
Anyway, All in For NC is having an event with her next week; if you still care about NC I’d urge you to attend. I know I’ll be there.
Info below:
On April 24 at 2:30 pm, come meet the top three new NC Democratic Party leaders. They’ll tell us about their plans to build a year-round field program to reach voters, to assist and reinvigorate all 100 county parties, and to be more visible and aggressive in the media. Former State Representative Ricky Hurtado will interview them.
They are:
Chair Anderson Clayton, 25, outgoing Chair of the rural Person County Democratic Party. Check this out: Anderson Clayton on Morning Joe or Democratic Party leaders react to Party-switching legislator.
First Vice-Chair Jonah Garson, outgoing Chair of the Orange County DP.
Second Vice-Chair Dr. Kimberly Hardy, professor of Social Work at Fayetteville State University.
Hope to see some of you there! Also, I’m also trying to put together a private fundraiser for the NCDP on Zoom, featuring Anderson. I’ll keep you posted!
More soon,
Jess
Thanks. We’re miserable here in Durham, NC over the “Trojan horse” Tricia Cotham, the newly Republican state House member from Mecklenburg who switched parties last week and defrauded the voters of her district. We have, I’d say, our version of George Santos!
Would love some wisdom on what to do now and how to better vet candidates.
