Hey, Team NC!

As I’m sure many of you know by this point, Judge Jefferson Griffin is currently doing everything in his power to overturn the democratic election of Justice Allison Riggs to the NC Supreme Court. Griffin is asking the courts to reject 60,000 perfectly valid ballots, disproportionately those belonging to young voters and Black voters, in order to secure more power for himself.

There’s absolutely no merit to these claims— Justice Riggs’ win has already been verified by recount. TWICE. If Griffin’s able to overturn her election, it will set an incredibly dangerous precedent, and will probably lead to more baseless lawsuits and election fraud attempts in races across the country. This is obviously a horrible misuse of power. So, here’s what you can do:

• If you want to check whether your vote may have been challenged, you can do so at this link (courtesy of Terry Mahaffey).

• Common Cause North Carolina has set up this page where you can learn more about what’s going on, add your name to their petition demanding the court rejects Griffin’s challenges, and sign up to receive updates and actions as the situation progresses.

• Share both of these resources with your friends and family!!!!
